If you’re visiting Blackpool for your family holiday this year, they’ll be plenty to amuse all the family.

The Beach and Piers

If you’re looking for traditional seaside fun, then head down to Blackpool’s beach, piers and promenade. Stroll along the sandy beaches, build a sandcastle, enjoy a donkey ride or simply paddle in the sea. Explore the three piers situated along the beach and try out some of the rides on offer, including the Central Pier Ferris Wheel for spectacular views. Wander along the promenade and enjoy some traditional seaside fare as you do so.

Big one

It’s not called the Big One for nothing, this steel roller coaster situated on the Blackpool pleasure beach was the steepest and tallest in the world at the time it was built, and it’s no less impressive today. It remains the tallest roller coaster you’ll find in the UK, so be sure to include it in your trip to Blackpool.

Blackpool Tower

Just as the Eiffel Tower is in Paris, no trip to Blackpool would be complete without a trip to the Blackpool Tower, if you only do one thing during your visit, this is the one. The tower reaches a staggering 518 feet, providing stunning views of the surrounding area, so you’ll see Blackpool as you’ve never done so before.

Sea Life Blackpool

Situated on Blackpool’s famous promenade, you could see over 2000 marine creatures on your visit to Sea Life. You’ll have the opportunity to encounter Sharks, Seahorses, Jellyfish and lots more besides, all at close quarters.

The shark feeding times are a particularly big draw for visitors, and it’s a spectacle you won’t want to miss. Also, look out for Nobby the Giant Lobster, who’s been resident at the aquarium since being rescued in North Wales in 2009. You’ll have lots of opportunities for interactive experiences that will entertain the whole family and learn about the importance of conservation too.

Blackpool Tower Ballroom

Want to strut your stuff like Anton? Then make haste to the Tower Ballroom.  Step back in time and enjoy Afternoon Tea in the splendid surroundings of this iconic ballroom.  Listen to the famous Wurlitzer organ while enjoying the delectable treats, then take a turn on the dance floor.

Winter Gardens

For a treat suitable for all the family head down to the Winter Gardens and see a show-stopping number, for it’s one of Blackpool’s most-loved entertainment venues. You can choose from a range of hit shows including Sister Act, Dirty Dancing and Spamalot, to name just a few of the upcoming musicals to visit the venue.

Blackpool illuminations

If you’re heading to Blackpool towards the end of the summer, then be sure to see the illuminations – one of the most famous attractions this seaside resort has to offer.  The illuminations are launched with a switch-on show that takes place on the Tower Festival Headland on Friday 1st September 2017. After which you can enjoy the illuminations every night right up until 5th November. It’s been described as the greatest free light show on earth. You can check the switch on times for each week online on the official visit Blackpool website.

So there you have an overview of some of the top attractions Blackpool has to offer, but there’s a lot more to enjoy too. To find your Blackpool b&b look to toprooms for the best accommodation available.
